Getting To Cape York
Your 7 day Cape York sportsfishing
adventure starts with a charter flight from Cairns to Princess Charlotte
Bay, via Musgrave Station, 350kms NNW of Cairns. Departing at 8.30 am
from the Hinterland Aviation terminal, Cairns General Aviation area,
it is usual for clients to overnight in Cairns prior to departure.
The flight takes approximately 1 hour, flying over Port Douglas and
the World Heritage Daintree rainforest, and then west of Cooktown over
the Normanby and Kennedy Rivers in Lakefield National Park. Landing
at Musgrave Station at approx. 10 am you and your
"gear" are transported to the waiting vessel by 4WD - let the adventure
begin.
Your return transfers use the same aircraft bringing in the next set
of clients and departs Musgrave at approx. 10.30am, arriving back in
Cairn approx. 12 noon.
Due to the vagrancies of weather and remote location travel, we suggest
clients arrange southern connection from 2.00 pm onwards.
Please note that we are fishing in a remote wilderness location, communications
may be difficult and transport arrangements subject to weather and
availability of suitable light aircraft / vessels
The scenery is stunning, the fishing exciting and varied but we encourage
sport fishing and catch and release practices. There is a limit of
up to 10kg of cleaned / filleted fish per person. We provide air craft
approved boxes so you can take your fish home with you as luggage.
