Your Boomerang Sportfishing Holiday (7 day packages depart Sunday to Sunday) starts with your flight from Cairns to Princess Charlotte Bay where MV Boomerang will be waiting in one of the mangrove creeks for your arrival. Your flight takes approximately 1 hour, flying over Port Douglas, World Heritage Daintree Rainforest, Bloomfield River, west of Cooktown over the Normanby and Kennedy Rivers in Lakefield National Park and land at Musgrave telegraph station.

A 1 hour 4WD trip through Cape York wilderness will have you eager to board the Boomerang as she awaits your arrival at the Annie River.

The extensive mangrove estuaries and river systems plays host to a myriad of fish species where we target Barramundi, Mangrove Jack, Bream, Salmon, Tarpon, Cod, Javelin Fish and Trevally, to name just a few. We encourage catch and release, but if you want to take your prize home, that's fine. We have aircraft approved containers for you and plenty of freezer space. Note a limit of up to 10kg per person of cleaned/filleted fish applies.

As well as the fishing, nature will provide constant entertainment and a visual smorgasbord - you will see large saltwater crocodiles and all sorts of sea eagles, hawks, herons, ibis, cockatoos and many others. A bird watchers paradise - be sure to bring along your camera and binoculars.

As we steam out to the bay proper the northern Great Barrier Reef awaits. There are countless outcrops of Coral Reef where prime eating fish species like Coral Trout, Red Emperor, Sweetlip, Nannygai, Cod and Fingermark abound in the rich waters (suitable weather permitting).

At the scenic Flinders Islands, we target Trevally, Mackerel and Queenfish & Tuna, not to mention oysters which are plentiful around the headlands.

Scheduled departures are on Sundays.
